CONSULTING SERVICES

All members of the Conflict Management Academy team are conflict management specialists with extensive experience in conflict management practice, training, education, and research. Our team includes accredited mediators under the Australian National Standards (NMAS/AMDRAS), certified transformative mediators under the US Institute for the Study of Conflict Transformation, certified narrative mediators, certified narrative coaches, and accredited REAL Conflict Coaches. We are experienced trainers, coach mentors, as well as trained group facilitators. 

Effective conflict management is critically important for individuals, groups, organisations, and communities in today’s complex environments. Parties in conflict (or in anticipation of conflict) may require support from a conflict management specialist to better understand and manage what is going on for them, and what options are available to engage effectively in the conflict. Parties may also need help to navigate complex projects, relationships, and competing priorities. 

Our services include training, facilitation, coaching, conflict process support (such as mediation or facilitated conversations), organisational dispute system review and design, workplace and project-based consultancy, and contribution to research and scholarship. Our proficiency extends across various contexts including interpersonal and inter-group conflicts, workplace disputes, community conflict, environmental conflict, and international development.

 

Our expertise covers a wide range of topics, including:

  • Understanding conflict : Equipping participants with the foundational knowledge and insights to understand the nature and dynamics of conflict.
  • Conflict management and resolution processes : Knowing when to engage external specialists and what types of processes are suitable or not suitable in different contexts.
  • Conflict management skills : Such as conflict analysis, negotiation, listening, questioning, working with emotions, difficult conversations, responding to challenging behaviours.
  • Practitioner training : Across a range of conflict resolution processes, including coaching, facilitated conversations, mediation, group facilitation, and negotiation.
  • Planned approaches to conflict engagement : Introducing participants to a strategic approach to effectively engage in ongoing conflict situations.
  • Neuroscience, psychology and conflict management : Introduction to fundamentals of neuroscience and psychology to support people to effectively manage conflict situations.
  • Working with specific client groups : People who are neurodivergent, cross cultural groups, people who have experienced trauma.
